Another milestone has been reached! Koole Tankstorage Zaandam recently received its Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP) approval. That means it continues to comply with the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS), and the terminal is allowed to receive ocean-going vessels. In addition, the security measures contribute to implementing our food defence policy.
Approved Security System
Klaas Verburgt explains the process. “Following a Port Facility Security Assessment conducted by the Port Authority, I have worked together with, the terminal, and its Port Facility Security Officer to update the plan and resubmit it for certification. Preparation of an effective PFSP rests on a thorough assessment of all issues that are related to the security of the port facility. This includes, in particular, a thorough appreciation of the physical and operational characteristics of our individual port facility. This recertification proves Koole has a solid security system in place.”
